The low toxicity solvents were tested, and the morphology and structures of the nanofibers were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FTIR), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). PLLA and its composite of CLM were electrospun using the solvents of dichloromethane and acetone. SEM images showed that the diameters of the electrospun PLLA fibers were about 1000 nm, decreased to about 400 nm when 5 wt % CLM was loaded. With the increase of the amount the drug loaded, the diameters of the fibers

gradually decreased and their distributions varied. The drug aggregates of any kind were not observed on the surfaces of the fibers. FTIR spectra revealed that CLM was incorporated into the macromolecular carrier of PLLA by formation https://www.selleckchem.com/products/Belinostat.html of the hydrogen bonds but no new functional groups in the structure of the composite nanofibers were formed. XRD patterns indicated that the drug distributed in the composite nanofibers existed in the noncrystalline form. (C) 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci

“In the present work, the crack problem of a long cylindrical superconductor with a center crack is investigated. The Bean and Kim model of critical state are considered, and selleckchem the stress intensity factors are calculated for zero-field cooling (ZFC) and field cooling (FC) magnetization processes, respectively. Based on the finite element method, the variation laws of the stress intensity factors for different magnetic field are obtained Selleckchem HIF inhibitor first. As the applied field decreases, the stress intensity factors increase quickly first, and

then decrease gradually after they reach a peak value. Subsequently, for every length of the crack, the maximum of the stress intensity factor is calculated. Numerical results obtained show that, the FC activation process has more significant influence on the stress intensity factors than the ZFC activation process. Finally, the results obtained from Bean model and Kim model are compared. When the dimensionless parameter p is lesser, the results in two different critical state models are equal almost. Generally speaking, all of the results are useful for understanding the critical state model and the fracture mechanism of high-temperature superconductors. (C) 2010 American Institute of Physics. “Possible use of ultra-fine acrylonitrile butadiene rubber powder (UFNBRP) as a filler for natural rubber (NR) was investigated. The UFNBRP was added into NR at various concentrations, and the compound properties were determined. It is found that, with increasing UFNBRP loading, the compound viscosity is increased, whereas both scorch time and optimum curing time are significantly reduced.
